The health of all participants is our number one priority, so we urge you to take the Corona measures below into account to prevent the virus from spreading. Therefore, we kindly ask you to read this email in full to avoid being denied access to Theater de Storm on the day of the symposium.
What are the conditions under which the symposium can proceed as safely as possible?
We comply with the advice and guidelines of the Dutch government. During the press conference held on the 14th of September, it became clear that events are allowed to go ahead under certain conditions. The precautions we are taking to minimize the risks are explained below. You can rest assured that we will make sure this is done in the most practical way possible.
Therefore, you will be asked to show your Coronavirus Pass and ID when entering the venue. As an additional step, we advice you to test yourself at home on September 28.
How do these measures work?
You can only enter the venue with a Coronavirus Pass
You can obtain this pass in advance in 1 of the following 3 ways:
- Vaccination certificate: fully vaccinated against the coronavirus with an approved European vaccine. In the Netherlands, from Saturday 10 July, your vaccination is valid 14 days after you have been fully vaccinated.
- or a recovery certificate: this shows that you recovered from Corona less than 6 months ago.
- or a test certificate: this must be a negative test result taken less than 24 hours prior to the event. To obtain a negative test certificate, you can make an appointment via testenvoortoegang.org. You will receive your results within 2 hours.
How to obtain a Corona Pass?
- Step1: Download the CoronaCheck app or go to CoronaCheck.nl
Download the free CoronaCheck app. If you don’t have a smartphone or if the app isn’t working properly, go to coronaCheck.nl/print to print a paper Corona Pass.
- Step 2: Upload your Coronavirus Pass, proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or negative test result in the CoronaCheck app or at CoronaCheck.nl
- Step 3: Have your QR-code scanned at the entrance of the venue. You can use the CoronaCheck app or the website CoronaCheck.nl to convert your Coronavirus Pass into a QR code in advance. When you arrive at the entrance of the venue, the QR will be scanned. If the screen turns green, your Coronavirus Pass is valid. If it turns red, we will ask you to go home immediately.
- Step 4: Bring your ID with you.
We will compare the information on your ID with the information in the Coronavirus Pass (your initials, day and month of birth). We will check whether you have been registered and will provide you with a badge, which you will need to wear visibly. After this step, you will be granted access to the theatre.
Extra step 5: perform a self-test at home on 28 September
We advice you to take a self-test on 28 September, before leaving for the symposium. In this way we will have done our best to prevent any further unnoticed spreading of the coronavirus. You can purchase a self-test from any pharmacy, drugstore and supermarket. Or you can make use of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport‘s offer to order a free self-test via www.zelftestenbestellen.nl. All Dutch citizens have received a letter in August explaining how this works.
Together we will comply with the basic rules
In conclusion, the basic rules still apply: wash your hands often and thoroughly, observe social distancing where you can and stay at home if you have any symptoms.
One last piece of advice: Check in advance whether your QR code works. You can do so by downloading the CoronaCheck scanner and using it to scan your own QR code. If you see a green checkmark, all’s well.
Reception Cas Weykamp
The reception will start at 16:45 hr, right after the symposium. There are no costs for those who will only attend the reception.
Colleagues asked if something is arranged for a central farewell gift.
Cas wants to donate to the museum in his hometown Winterswijk (www.vereniginghetmuseum.nl).
If you like the idea you can transfer your contribution to NL64RABO0154459763 attn. Vereniging het Museum with reference to ‘Farewell gift Cas Weykamp’ or give it to him during the reception.
The exhibition in the foyer of the theatre is open from 12:00 – 18:00 hr. The exhibition online will be the whole day via the Networkapp. More details about the online exhibition will follow closer to the event.
